# How to View and Download Receipts

> Find patient payment receipts, download PDF copies, and understand what appears on them.

A receipt confirms that a payment was received. In OdontoX, receipts are generated automatically when a payment is recorded against an invoice.

**Who can do this:** Admins, Doctors, and Receptionists (if finance is enabled).

## Where to find receipts

You can access receipts in two ways:

1. Open the paid invoice and scroll to the payment history.
2. Go to **Finance → Receipts** to see all receipts.

## What appears on a receipt

* Clinic name and branding
* Receipt number and date
* Patient name and email
* Invoice reference
* Amount paid and payment method
* Clinic bank details (on subscription receipts)

Patient phone numbers are **not** printed on receipts.

## Download a receipt

1. Open the receipt.
2. Click **Download PDF**.
3. Save the file for your records or share it with the patient.

## Refunds and corrections

If a payment was recorded incorrectly, you may need to issue a credit note or adjust the invoice balance. See the related articles below.
