Overview

v1.1 is a wide-ranging release that touches nearly every part of the platform. The appointment detail screen has been rebuilt from the ground up. Doctors now have everything they need — chart, history, treatment plans, notes — on a single screen, with four AI editing actions to shape clinical text in place. Inventory management arrives as the first new module since launch, giving clinic staff a dedicated place to track every supply and consumable. Finance behavior around installment plans becomes significantly more predictable, and a round of interface polish tightens the experience across the board.

Appointment Detail — Full Redesign

The appointment detail screen has been rebuilt. The previous tabbed layout that required switching between chart, notes, and history is gone. In its place is a persistent two-column layout. The main column contains everything clinical: the embedded dental chart, the clinical notes block with AI authoring, and the full patient history inline. The right rail is persistent and always visible — it shows the patient’s active medical issues, linked treatment plans, consent forms, status actions (Confirm, Check In, Complete, No Show, Cancel), and the appointment summary email form. Doctors see everything they need for an appointment without a single tab switch.

AI Clinical Note Authoring

The clinical notes block inside the appointment detail has been redesigned with AI authoring as a first-class feature. The note editor now has branded AI styling, a voice recording button, and processing animations that give feedback while the model is working.

Four AI Editing Actions

After a note is drafted — whether typed or dictated — four editing chips appear inline:
  • Rewrite — restructures the note while preserving clinical content, improving clarity and flow.
  • Check Grammar — corrects grammar and spelling without changing clinical meaning.
  • Shorter — condenses the note to the essential clinical facts.
  • Detailed — expands a brief note with more thorough clinical language.
Each action runs directly on the note text and replaces it in place. Speech-to-text remains available as the fifth input method alongside the four AI actions.

Dental Chart — Sidebar Redesign & AI Note Authoring

The dental chart’s sidebar has been redesigned for clarity. Finding conditions, restorations, and findings on a selected tooth is faster, and the panel no longer competes with the chart canvas for attention. The dental chart is now connected to AI clinical note authoring. Doctors can launch the AI note panel directly from the charting surface — the selected tooth’s conditions and findings are pre-populated as context, so the generated SOAP note reflects what is actually shown on the chart. This eliminates the need to switch to the Clinical Notes module mid-appointment to capture chart-informed findings. Tooth-level data (tooth number, conditions, treatments) feeds directly into the AI prompt. The generated note can be reviewed, edited using the four AI editing actions above, and saved — all without leaving the chart.

Inventory Management

The Inventory module is now live for clinics on the Pro plan and above. It gives clinic staff a dedicated place to track every supply, material, and consumable in the practice. Items list — a clean, searchable table of all inventory items with current stock levels, category, unit of measure, reorder threshold, and supplier. Items can be filtered by category and sorted by name or stock level. Stock actions — three distinct actions keep records accurate without manual entry hacks:
  • Receive records new stock arriving from a supplier, adds to the current quantity, and logs the unit cost.
  • Consume deducts stock used during a procedure or appointment.
  • Adjust corrects discrepancies found during a physical count, with a required reason note.
Low-stock alerts — items that fall below their reorder threshold are flagged automatically. Clinic admins receive an alert and can reorder directly from the low-stock notice. Full CRUD — items can be created, edited, and archived. Archiving preserves the history of an item without cluttering the active inventory view. The Inventory module can be enabled from your clinic’s module settings. Contact [email protected] if it is not appearing for your clinic.

Lab Cases — Custom Priority Labels

Lab case priority is no longer limited to the preset tiers. Staff can now add a custom priority label alongside the standard Low / Medium / High / Urgent options. This accommodates practice-specific priority language (e.g., “Same Day”, “Rush – Patient Waiting”, “Cosmetic – Non-Urgent”) without overriding the standard workflow.

Finance Fixes

Installment double-billing closed. A bug was causing a parent invoice to be created when an installment plan was saved, resulting in the patient being billed twice — once through the plan terms and once through the parent invoice. The parent invoice is no longer created. Existing plans are unaffected. Auto-invoice generator skips installment-backed plans. The scheduled invoice generator was incorrectly creating additional invoices for treatment plans that were already managed through an installment schedule. It now detects the installment link and skips those plans. Public treatment plan view accepts “approved” status. Shared treatment plan links now correctly treat approved as an accepted state, so patients who had already accepted a plan no longer see an incorrect pending prompt. Bank & Payment Accounts settings save correctly. A bug was causing silent failures when clinic admins tried to save bank account and payment information in Settings. The save now works as expected.

Email & Document Sharing

Payment reminder emails now send the actual reminder. Previously, the send button delivered a generic invoice template, ignoring the AI-crafted payment message on screen. Now what you see is what the patient receives. One-click appointment summary email. From the appointment detail right rail, enter the patient’s email and send a branded summary with appointment details, the latest clinical note, and an optional invoice link. Auto-share on document creation. When a new invoice, quotation, or receipt is created for a patient who has a portal account, a share link is automatically sent to them. Staff no longer need to manually click “Share” after creating a document — the link is delivered immediately.

Interface Polish

  • In-progress appointment cards — appointments with an “In Progress” status now animate with a subtle pulse on the status indicator, making active appointments visually distinct at a glance in the queue and calendar views.
  • Lucide icons throughout — all remaining emoji checkmarks and status indicators have been replaced with consistent Lucide icons. The interface is visually coherent across all views.
  • Signature image protection — signature images in the Signature Center and on document previews are now locked against zooming, downloading, dragging, and right-click context menus.
  • AI “Review before use” disclaimer — all AI-generated content surfaces now include a brief disclaimer reminding users to verify AI output before using it in clinical records or patient communications. This is visible but unobtrusive — it does not interrupt the workflow.
  • Dark mode AI contrast fixed — the Morning Brief, Revenue Forecast, and Patient Brief panels had low-contrast text in dark mode. All three now render correctly against dark backgrounds.
  • Booking form reset after success — the public booking form was retaining the patient name, date, and time fields after a successful submission. The form now resets cleanly so the next booking starts fresh.
  • Past appointment actions blocked — the Confirm and Check In actions on appointments are now disabled for appointments in the past, preventing accidental status changes on historical records.
  • Installment plans loading state — the installment plans list now shows a single consolidated skeleton row during loading, replacing the previous flickering multi-element loading state.
  • Treatment plan “New plan” keeps context — navigating to create a new plan from inside an appointment auto-returns you to the appointment after saving, instead of stranding you in the treatment-planning module.

Who Benefits

Doctors — the appointment detail is a single-screen experience. Four AI editing actions refine clinical notes without leaving the authoring surface. AI note generation is now available directly from the dental chart. Dark mode AI panels are readable. Past appointment records cannot be accidentally modified. Clinic admins and owners — inventory tracking is live and ready to use. Bank and payment account settings finally save. Payment reminders deliver the actual AI-crafted message. Auto-shared document links remove a manual step from every patient interaction. Reception / front desk — status actions are always in the same location on every appointment. In-progress appointments are visually distinct in every queue view. The booking form resets correctly between patients. Lab technicians — can assign custom priority labels to cases that do not fit the standard tiers. Patients — receive personalized payment reminders instead of generic invoices, proper appointment summary emails, and automatic share links for every new document.

Upgrade Notes

  • The Inventory module must be activated for your clinic before it appears. Contact [email protected] if you are on Pro or above and do not see it.
  • The installment billing fix is forward-looking. Existing installment plans with duplicate parent invoices are not automatically corrected; those would need manual review if any are found.
  • No changes to existing workflows or data. All prior functionality continues to work as before.
