Appointment Setup

Set the five front-desk defaults — clock format, default booking length, click-to-book, drag-snap, hover preview — in one place so the calendar behaves the way your reception team actually works. We added this card because every clinic has slightly different habits, and the previous behaviour was hard-coded. Now your receptionists open the calendar to the rhythm you choose.

What’s new

  • Time format — 12h or 24h, per clinic. Choose whether the calendar shows 1:00 PM or 13:00. The choice applies everywhere — the timeline axis, appointment cards, hover tooltips and the drag-to-reschedule confirmation dialog. No more mixed clocks.
  • Default appointment duration. The duration picker now offers 30 minutes (default), 1 hour, and a Custom option (5–480 minutes for the rare edge case). Set the default here once.
  • Allow click-to-book. Off by default. With click-to-book off, clicking an empty time slot does nothing — bookings go through the New Appointment button. Turn it on if your team prefers to tap an empty slot to open the booking dialog.
  • Drag-to-reschedule snap interval. 15 minutes or 30 minutes. Dragging an appointment card snaps the new start time to the chosen boundary so you do not end up with 14:07-start appointments.
  • Hover time indicator. When on, hovering over an empty slot in the day or week view shows the exact start time you would book if you clicked. Useful when the time grid is busy and the axis labels are far away.

How to use it

  1. Open Settings → Appointment Setup.
  2. Pick a time format. The change is immediate — switch to another tab to see it apply.
  3. Pick a default duration. New appointments will stage at that length when you open the booking dialog.
  4. Decide on click-to-book. Off is the new default because it stops accidental bookings during the morning scroll.
  5. Pick a snap interval. 30 minutes matches the half-hour-slot policy most clinics run; 15 minutes is there if you book around shorter checks.
  6. Toggle the hover preview. Receptionists generally like it on; doctors often turn it off because they read the axis instead.

What changed since the last revision

  • This Settings card is brand new. The five toggles used to live as code defaults that you could not change without a support ticket.
  • Click-to-book is off out of the gate. If your team was used to tapping empty slots, turn it on here.
  • The default booking duration is now 30 minutes, not 60 minutes. Long appointments still work — pick Custom and type the minutes you need.
