Overview

Access is assigned by role. Some access is also controlled by clinic modules and per-user permission overrides. This guide summarizes what each role can do based on the current codebase.

Clinic Admin

Clinic admins manage operations and finance for a specific clinic. What they can do
  • Manage patients, appointments, treatment plans, and service catalog.
  • Access the Financial Hub for quotations, invoices, and receipts.
  • Manage staff, clinic settings, branding, operatories, and document numbering.
  • Access inventory and insurance workflows when modules are enabled.
  • Request additional license seats and manage subscription status.

  • Admin dashboard with Overview, Patients, Appointments, Treatment Plans, Finance, Inventory, Insurance, Reports, and Settings.

Doctor

Doctors focus on clinical workflows and patient care. What they can do
  • View and edit patients, appointments, and clinical records.
  • Use dental charting, clinical notes, treatment plans, prescriptions, and lab cases.
  • Access Financial Hub tabs for quotations, invoices, and receipts if the finance module is enabled.
  • Manage signatures and appearance settings.

  • Doctor dashboard with Clinical, Finance, Engagement, and Settings sections.

Receptionist

Receptionists handle front desk operations and billing support. What they can do
  • Schedule and update appointments.
  • Register and manage patients.
  • Use Financial Hub tabs for quotations, invoices, and receipts if finance is enabled.
  • Manage notifications and signatures.

Patient

Patients access their own records and billing through the portal. What they can do
  • View upcoming and past appointments.
  • View treatment plans, prescriptions, billing, and documents.
  • Update profile and medical history.
  • Message the clinic and view files shared with them.

Role-based permissions

Permissions are applied per clinic assignment. Default access is role-based and can be adjusted per staff member. Common permission areas
