As a doctor, your main workspace in OdontoX is the patient record. This guide shows you how to see patients, document visits, and manage treatment plans.

Before you start

  • Your clinic admin must invite you to the clinic.
  • You must accept the invitation and log in.

Step 1: Review your schedule

Open the Calendar from the sidebar to see your appointments. You can view by day, week, or month. Click any appointment to open its detail page. How appointments work →

Step 2: Open a patient record

From the appointment detail page or the Patients list, open the patient you are seeing. The patient record contains:
  • profile and contact details
  • medical and dental history
  • appointments
  • clinical notes, charting, prescriptions, and files
  • treatment plans and billing

Step 3: Chart teeth and write notes

During or after the visit:
  • Use Dental Charting to mark tooth conditions and planned work.
  • Use Clinical Notes to write a SOAP note or use an AI-assisted draft.
  • Add Prescriptions if needed.

Step 4: Create a treatment plan

If the patient needs future work, create a Treatment Plan from the patient record.
  • Add procedures from the Service Catalog.
  • Adjust quantities or prices if needed.
  • Attach before/after photos.
  • Apply a discount policy if applicable.
  • Share the plan with the patient as a PDF or public link.

Step 5: Hand off billing

If your clinic uses OdontoX for billing, the receptionist can turn the treatment plan or appointment into a quotation or invoice. You can view billing information from the patient record if your permissions allow it.
